Usuzobizwa ngegama elisha u-Facebook

Isikhondlakhondla senkundla yokuxhumana u-Facebook usushintshe igama lawo waba i-Meta njengoba ubhekene nengcindezi ekhulayo yokubeka inzuzo enkulu ngaphambi kwabantu.

Inkampani ithe igama elisha “lizohlanganisa” kangcono abakwenzayo manje – noma ngabe lokho kusho ukuthini.

Le nkampani ikwenze kwacaca ukuthi inhloso yayo yesikhathi esizayo ukwakha umhlaba we-inthanethi, obizwa nge-Metaverse, lapho abantu bengasebenza khona, badlale futhi baxhumane endaweni ebonakalayo, besebenzisa ama-headphone.

“Sikholelwa ukuthi i-metaverse izolandela i-inthanethi ephathwayo. Sizokwazi ukuzizwa siyingxenye – kuzobe sengathi sikhona lapho nabantu noma ngabe siqhelelene kangakanani,” kusho umsunguli uMark Zuckerberg.

Le nkampani isanda kubhekana nokugxekwa futhi yaba ngundabamlonyeni wezindaba ezingezinhle ngemuva kokuthi isisebenzi sangaphambilini siputshuze imibhalo elimazayo ekhombisa ukuthi inkampani yayazi ukuthi imikhiqizo yayo efana ne-Instagram inomthelela omubi kubantu abasha, 

kodwa igxile kakhulu ekwenzeni inzuzo.

Ukwakhiwa kabusha kulindeleke ukuthi kubeke (u-Facebook) phambili njengomunye wemikhiqizo embalwa ngaphansi kwenkampani engunina i-Meta, elandela ezinyathelweni ze-Google, eyasungula inkampani ephethe, i-Alphabet, ngonyaka wezi-2015.
